Art Available - Gallery 1

Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as  "master works" for their power and quality.

Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"

Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Larry Schafer is a pastel and water-media artist who specializes in painting portraits, flowers, and landscapes. His portraits are most often rendered in pastel; while his flowers and landscapes are most often rendered in watercolor or acrylics. Larry's formal education was focused on science. He spent most of his professional life as a professor of science teaching a Syracuse University. Although he created illustrations for his teaching and publications, he didn't start fine art painting until rather late in his career. His formal art education includes courses from artists Nicora Gange, Carl Wenzel, and Gary Trento. He has taken workshops from Don Andrews and Robert Burridge.

Over the last 15 years, Larry has received three "best of show" awards and three "popular vote" awards in university art shows and has had six of his paintings displayed at the Everson Art Museum in Syracuse, New York. Larry has received an honorable mention in a show (2009) at the Franklin Art Gallery (Southport, NC), has received two first place awards in pastel from Brunswick County Senior Games (2009, 2010), has painted murals in Valencia, Spain (2009), and in 2010 won first place in pastel at the State Finals for the NC Senior Games. In 2011, Larry received the Kelly Weal Memorial award for his pastel painting, "Brook Flying," at the Northeast National Pastel Exhibition in Old Forge, NY.

Larry is a member of the Cazenovia Watercolor Society (Cazenovia, NY) and the Associated Artists of Southport, NC. See his art blog at www.larryschaferart.blogspot.com.
