Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed 
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Event Description

Have you always wanted to try your hand at painting on the asphalt? Well, now you can! Come join us at The 3rd Annual North Country Arts Council Summer Festival which will be held Saturday, August 13th, 10a-5p, in Watertown's Historic Public Square. This is a family event with something for everyone to See, Do and Take home.

We have 6 x 6’ spaces reserved for anyone interested in street painting. These spaces will be available on a first come, first serve basis. There is no fee to be a part of the street painting exhibit, just sign up and bring your own supplies!  Street painters may arrive as early as 8:30am.  CASH PRIZES:  1st place $125, 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50.
