Art Available - Gallery 1

Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as  "master works" for their power and quality.

Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"

Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Artist Statement

Penny Santy was born in December of 1965 in Syracuse, New York. While still a young child, she was brought biking, hiking, and exploring the Adirondack Mountains, where it instilled a sense of appreciation for nature, adventure and exploration. These were the seeds for her sense of connection to nature and where she began to see its strong ties and influences on the human spirit.

Santy’s works are representational pieces that break from that, at times, to abstraction.. Her paintings embrace the human experience that is effected by or reflected in our natural surroundings. She has been inspired by the works of Gustav Klimpt, the impressionists, and the tonalists for the spiritual connection captured in their work, and by abstract expressionists like Philip Guston, Joan Mitchell and Willem de Kooning for the energy, paint textures and movement expressed in their works.

Santy received her bachelor’s degree in fine art at Syracuse University in 1988. She was a three-time winner to be chosen to show in the Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, N.Y., and winner of a first place cash award through the “On My Own Time” art show. She won a second place cash award in the Rome, New York, Regional Fine Arts Exhibition, and third place award in the Central Adirondack Art Show.
