Art Available - Gallery 1

Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as  "master works" for their power and quality.

Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"

Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

About Me

1.   Painted a green cat with purple whiskers

2.   Sold the cat.

3.   Was encouraged.

4.   Painted more cats.

People often ask how the Cranky Cats started, and I guess it came from having 4 cats and watching them a lot. I love that flattened ear thing when they're angry or stalking and trying to be invisible.

I'm a self-taught artist and started painting at the age of 40.  I feel like every painting is an experiment.  I never know quite how they'll turn out and I don't really do much planning before I start painting.

My family and I (husband, twin daughters, cats and a silly bird) live in Mexico, NY.

Went to the Without Restraint show at the Szozda Gallery on Friday with my sister Helen Carter (of Secret Lentil fame) and her husband Michael Burton.  I really enjoyed seeing the work of Barbara Conte-Gaugel and Phil Parsons (and many others).  It's so inspiring to be in the midst of creative people and their creations.

Mechanical Things - Yummm!

If Rube Goldberg were 1) still alive, and 2) looking for an apprentice, I'd be knocking on his door. Mechanical metal gear-y contraptions that do things make me happy.  Whirligigs! Weathervanes!  The "Perpetuball Motion Machine" at Salmon Run Mall in Watertown!

Well, my latest venture into making things doesn't really fit into the whirligig or weathervane category, but I have been using metal to make jewelry.  I love art because everything an artist creates is part of that…

Cynthia... I am a photographer and just joined this site... I was looking at other people's pages and found you.  I then went to your website and was looking at your "cranky cat" images and found " Kitty Fairy"... and I have a story to tell you.... Two years ago I adopted two white kittens from the SPCA... we named them Jack and Jill.  They were so little they "imprinted" on me as MOM.  Last year Jack got ill and we did everything to figure out was was wrong, but he died... the day he died, I called my friend and fellow artist, Candy Lucas... before I could tell her about Jack she said..."I am cleaning house and have an image of a white cat with angel wings...would you like it??  I think Jack was looking down at us.  Thankyou for that lovely image... I see my Jack whenever I look at it.
