Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as "master works" for their power and quality.
Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"
Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

I have a large industrial size drafting table which needs a new home. I am not kidding about it being industrial sized; it was originally used by the engineers at Carrier. I am rearranging my studio and just don't have room for the drafting table anymore. The table has two work surfaces; a drafting side which slants at various angles and a flat side. The drafting side measures 40" x 60"; the flat side 31" x 60" and also has a storage drawer which can hold several drawings. The table surface…

Just a quick post to wish you all a happy St. Patrick's Day, which will be here in a couple of days.
This is a painting I created in preparation for my watercolor class and for Hartsville Hollow's Celtic themed re-opening.

This watercolor is a study for a larger piece I plan to paint this Spring. The use of analogous colors create a sense of color harmony which helps hold the composition together.
I painted this at camp this past weekend. No running water yet; I used melted snow to clean my…

I have started working with watercolors again, and I am enjoying every minute of it. I had forgotten how much I loved their luminous quality. Tomorrow I am doing a watercolor and mixed media demonstration for the YMCA Seniors group, and beginning in March I will be teaching Watercolors at the Y Arts Studio on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings.
Pictured here is…

I have always loved the beautiful old architecture of Downtown Syracuse.
There are so many unique buildings and styles; each a work of art.
My favorite is the Gridley Building with its' elegant arching windows and canopy over the entrance.…

The downtown festivals and parades with their profusion of color and excitement are so much fun to paint! The Veterans Day Parade of 2008 is pictured here. Flags are flying everywhere. A massive US flag hangs over Salina Street, suspended by two City of Syracuse Fire Trucks.…

I have been and probably always will be a landscape painter. I don't think there is ever a time when I am not noticing the landscape. Whether going to work, or to the store, or biking along the Erie Canal, I am always looking at the land, the sky and the water.
In Upstate New York, we are so fortunate to have such amazingly beautiful places like the Adirondack Mountains, the Thousand Islands and the Finger Lakes Region. I am always drawn to water and love to paint the ripples and…
