Art Available - Gallery 1

Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as  "master works" for their power and quality.

Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"

Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Remnants of My Youth, My Early Career...

Circa 1981: In the Massena Observer Newsroom

My early professional career spent working as a reporter for the Massena Observer, the then-hometown newspaper of Massena, New York. In this shot, you'll note details that could only be signs of those times: Dedicated Word Processor (not a PC), 1980s cheap Casio digital wristwatch,…

An Attic of Treasures – Oil Art Paintings

I am fortunate to live in the Northeast part of the U.S. where most houses have expansive attics. I went up in my attic the other day to look for an oil painting I had stored up there back a while ago. It took me a while pouring through all of my little treasures which I have accumulated over the years, but eventually I found my painting.

Coincidentally, the Duke of Devonshire was doing the same thing. Although he was slightly more successful in his attic finds than I… Continue

Landscapes & Nature

I've been a photographer for over 20 years I've always preferrred nature and scenery shots to portraits. Now I usually take a camera with me wherever I go, even if it's just my point 'n shoot. It's allowed me to get some shots I wouldn't have otherwise.

Addendum

My family is not really saturated with presents. But I am making more than is needed for birthdays, Christmas and Mother's Day. Sometimes they think I make things a little too wacky for them. Besides, if you make it and people buy it, that is a vindication of my efforts. I am an industrial designer by day (more on that later) so sales as a measure of success is in my blood. But sometimes I just do something because I want to. This is called Empty Oceans, created in response to the recent… Continue

Artist's Statement! Aha!

Woodland Path Media? Size? Price?

Any time I'm asked this I always hesitate to say what are my feelings about making art. Why do I make it? Why do I ask my art students to make it? What happens when I make it? My belief is creativity is what set human animals into a different category from other species. (Not above just different) I believe we are driven to express ourselves creatively in some… Continue
