Art Available - Gallery 1

Hope by Ron Warford, 40' x 30 " Graphite on Black Board, Framed
Mr. Warford's work was selected by the Smithsonian Institution for a national traveling exhibition in 1973. He was one of the initial founding and teaching members at the Folk Art Gallery in Syracuse. His work spings from his imagination and is masterfully executed. Tel (315) 391-5115 for more info or to purchase. One of the presidents of a local art guild referred to Ron's work as  "master works" for their power and quality.

Strength , by Ron Warford. 20 " X 30"

Home is Where the Hearth Is by Jaws. This piece took 600 hours. Amazingly, to produce this the artist had to put the snowflakes  in first on a white fine piece of paper and then build everything around it. Think about it - this amazing work, and other pieces of the artists work can be seen at CNY Artists Gallery, which purchased this piece in 2013.

Cabin Fever In Upstate New York

It’s the middle of January, winter has really settled in here in Upstate New York. During the winter months, the routine doesn’t change much for this

Central New York artist and things can become a bit dull if you let them. My world has gotten so small that I am beginning to see art where I am not so sure art exist.…

Watercolor!

I have started working with watercolors again, and I am enjoying every minute of it. I had forgotten how much I loved their luminous quality. Tomorrow I am doing a watercolor and mixed media demonstration for the YMCA Seniors group, and beginning in March I will be teaching Watercolors at the Y Arts Studio on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings.

Pictured here is…

My Ah Ha Moment

While walking the dogs this morning I had an epiphany. I look forward to my routine walks with our two dogs and so do they. They love the freedom of wandering free over our Central New York farm fields following the various scents that cross their paths. In my own way I am doing the same thing, following wandering thoughts that are crossing my mind. Every once in a while I have an epiphany and I had one of these “ah ha” moments the other day.…

World's Tallest Church Transports Me Back to Germany

While out hiking my dogs this week, slogging through the drifting snow, it wasn’t all that was drifting, my mind was too. Once again I found myself thinking back to some of the wonderful experiences I had while visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Europe a while back. One particular experience rises above all others, literally; and that is Ulm Münster, the tallest church in… Continue

Delavan Center

Went to the Without Restraint show at the Szozda Gallery on Friday with my sister Helen Carter (of Secret Lentil fame) and her husband Michael Burton.  I really enjoyed seeing the work of Barbara Conte-Gaugel and Phil Parsons (and many others).  It's so inspiring to be in the midst of creative people and their creations.

An Introduction

Expressing emotion through likeness, linework and the use of color are my passions.

The face has it... Portraiture captivates me in a way nothing else can. My goal is to not just create a likeness, but catch a piece of the person's essence in my work and interpret the…

The Day After

Yesterday I started 2011 off with my first art show where I was the featured artist along with two other artists from the New York City area. My show, "The Wishful Traveler" is showcased at the Earlville Opera House in Earlville, New York. It was my first show like this where I am the featured artist, and not just showing a couple of pieces with many other artists.…

What a great way to start the New Year--getting ready for the opening of my art show at the

Earlville Opera Housethis Saturday (Jan. 8).

It has been a year-long process from submitting my work to acceptance and finally, the hardest part which was deciding on which paintings to show. I am thrilled to be able to share several of my oil… Continue
